Nantucket

A six member rock band formed in Jacksonville, North Carolina in 1969 that over 40 years later is still rocking. Originally Nantucket was a cover band working under the name "Stax of Gold" and then under "Nantucket Sleighride" for a brief time. Finally the band was billed as just Nantucket and became a top drawing sensation well before its first record was released after signing with Epic Records in 1977.
Nantucket has opened for top acts including Kiss, Styx, Boston, Mother's Finest, Journey, and The Doobie Brothers.
The original members of Nantucket reunited on November 29, 1991 to record a live session and released an album called "Still Live After All These Years" which featured earlier songs and new material. This reunion project went so well that Nantucket has been booking steadily ever since and today still delivers their special brand of Nantucket rock.
